Aviva India appoints Amit Malik as Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director
In his new role, Amit will be responsible for strengthening Aviva’s position as the Most Trusted Private Life Insurer in India
New Delhi, 14 Jan 2021: Aviva India announced the appointment of Amit Malik as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director (MD & CEO) with effect from 1st Jan 2021.
Prior to this, Amit worked as the Chief People, Operations and Customer Services Officer with Aviva India and was part of the Aviva India Leadership Team. His name as the MD & CEO has been chosen unanimously by the shareholders, the Board and the Aviva Leadership following his proven track record as an effective and successful leader. In his new role, Amit will be responsible for bringing Aviva India’s strategy alive and strengthening the company’s position as the Most Trusted Private Life Insurer in India.
Talking about Amit’s appointment, Chetan Singh, Chief Strategy and M&A Officer, Aviva plc. said, “I am excited to announce Amit Malik’s promotion as the new MD & CEO of Aviva India. With over 21 years of experience in the financial services industry, Amit has been part of the Aviva Leadership Team since December 2012. He joined as People Director for the Market and over the years has expanded his portfolio to also lead Operations and Customer Service. He has been part of many strategic initiatives in the market. Amit succeeds Trevor Bull who stepped down on 31stDecember 2020 from Aviva India as planned, after a six year successful tenure as MD & CEO at Aviva India and returned to work for Aviva in the UK.
